Content
|
Wild and cultivated plants, their relationships, biodiversity, importance and conservation. Domestication of cultivated plants, centres of origin, classification of plants according to utilisation. Genetic resources, strategies of conservation, varieties, wild species, progenitors, gene pools, breeding. Genebanks (organization and facilities), in-situ and ex-situ collections, specialized collections, databases, passport and description data, documentation, descriptors, accession regeneration and maintenance, collecting expeditions. Collections of botanic gardens. Methods for germplasm characterization, molecular markers, sampling, methods for DNA extraction. Legal aspects of germplasm protection of crops, information systems. Examples of cultivated plants, fruits and seeds with focus to vegetables and special crops.
